Evening at the Bo

This month, Columbus State University redefines their annual scholarship gala this year with a new event at the Bo Bartlett Center. Evening at the Bo has been developed to provide something for everyone, as evident in the event's multi-faceted design.

A highlight of the evening will be headlining band Los Coast. Endorsed by major music critics from Rolling Stone, Garden & Gun, NPR, and the Associated Press, Los Coast's presence at Evening at the Bo comes as a welcome surprise. The band features Columbus native and Brookstone School alumni Trey Privott, who will return home to play the event.

Evening at the Bo is a benefit for Columbus State University's multiple scholarship programs. Proceeds from the evening will go to fund scholarships fro students in every field of study at the university.

Inside "The Bo" that evening, DJ 007 will be providing some music while guests enjoy food stationed throughout the museum. Fine art exhibitions will also be on display by world-renown artists Bo Bartlett and Wolf Kahn. Local artist Julianna Wells will be painting the scene taking place inside, and her painting created that evening will be included in the Special Art Raffle. (The Special Art Raffle also includes a live painting by Kate Waddell AND a special wrapped canvas of Bo Bartlett's "The Promised Land" valued at $3,000.)

Outside on the Yancey Terrace, Omaha Brewing Company will provide a Beer Garden with top local favorite brews from their brewery in nearby Omaha, Georgia. Downstairs, on the bottom level of the Terrace, guests will find Georgia Crown and Uptown Wine & Spirits Mixology Area featuring 18th Amendment's Zach Logan. (Rumor has it there's a Columbusite Cosmo!)

On the backyard lawn in the iheartradio Entertainment Tent, Los Coast will play as the featured band for the evening. In addition to live music and festive decor, local artist and Columbus native Kate Waddell will do a live painting of this scene. The painting will be included in the aforementioned Special Art Raffle with tickets for the raffle only be available at the event for purchase!

The main raffle of the evening is for a new Mercedes Benz OR a $10,000 cash prize. Tickets are on sale now for this raffle, and on October 8, the raffle's grand prize will officially be announced. If more than 350 tickets have pre-sold, the car will be up for grabs. If not, the grand prize will be $10,000. (Honestly, either sounds great to us!) Also on October 8th, the raffle will be narrowed down to 10 finalists. These final 10 will be entered into the last round of the raffle happening live at Evening at The Bo.

Then, at 9:30 p.m., there will be a fireworks show sponsored by CSU Alumni Association on the Dillingham Bridge located just behind The Bartlett Center.
